Job summary

Kona Medical Consulting is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) with home health experience to join The Home Health team across locations in Texas. The PTA will work under a licensed Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans designed to improve mobility and reduce pain for patients recovering from injuries or surgeries.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in PTA program (accredited).
• Prior home health experience required.
• Licensure or certification as required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and mobility techniques.
• Use specialized equipment to aid in patient recovery and rehabilitation.
• Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions.
• Communicate with patients to ensure their comfort and understanding of therapy goals.
• Educate patients and their families about at-home exercises and techniques for continued recovery.
• Prepare therapy rooms and equipment for patient use.
• Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment.
• Report any significant changes in a patient's condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Record accurate notes on treatment provided and patient progress.
• Adhere to healthcare regulations, privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA), and safety protocols.
