Job summary

AdventHealth in Altamonte Springs, FL is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to support patient care under a Physical Therapist. The role requires an Associate degree, PTA certification and basic computer skills.

You will work day shifts with opportunities for professional growth in a comprehensive wellness system. Responsibilities include coordinating with care teams, educating patients and families, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Entry level competency in Physical therapy practice, theory, principle, and applications as defined by department policies.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate interdisciplinary continuity of care and discharge planning with the case manager and healthcare professionals.
• Maintain productivity and adjust work hours to patient needs.
• Participate in departmental meetings, education sessions, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and coordinate with the Physical Therapist for adjustments.
• Educate patients and families on identified needs and ensure understanding; implement plans using PT guidance.
• Document interventions and progress accurately and timely per standards and policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
