Job summary

AdventHealth in Altamonte Springs, FL, is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant for a full-time Day-Weekend schedule. The role supports the Physical Therapist with patient care plans and discharge planning, under supervision, within a hospital setting.

You will collaborate with the care team, document progress, and help patients and families understand treatment goals and home plans. A PTA license and BLS are required, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Entry level competency in physical therapy practice and related responsibilities.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English.

Responsibilities

• Maintains open communication with the case manager, primary therapist, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate interdisciplinary continuity of care and appropriate discharge planning.
• Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department and adjusts work hours to meet patient needs.
• Participates in departmental meetings, education sessions, and performance improvement initiatives to maintain clinical competencies and adhere to professional practices.
• Monitors patient response to treatment and communicates with the Physical Therapist for necessary adjustments.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers on identified needs and implements treatment plans with PTA guidance.
