Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide instruction aimed at improving the patient’s well-being, following an established plan of care. The role emphasizes home health care with strong coordination among the care team.

Primary responsibilities include aiding patients in exercise, recording progress, and communicating changes to the supervising PT. Weekend rotation availability and current licensure are required; CPR certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Follow all state-specific laws governing provision of physical therapy in home care.
• Follow treatment set by supervising PT; perform only procedures you are qualified to perform.
• Aide patients in active and passive exercise and gait training.
• Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in therapy within the scope of practice.
• Coordinate care with the healthcare team and report patient status to supervisors.
