Job summary

Qualifications

• Holds a Virginia Physical Therapy license.
• Graduate of an approved physical therapy program.
• One year of clinical experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Able to function with minimal supervision.
• Able to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing PT assessments to determine client functional level.
• Performs direct therapeutic physical therapy services as prescribed by physician.
• Evaluates equipment needs to increase client function.
• Records client status and progress for physician and staff.
• Educates and supervises nurses, aides, caregivers, and clients in therapy plans.
• Consults with staff on goal setting and outcomes; participates in clinical conferences.
• Delivers PT services per accepted standards for client conditions.
• Develops and revises care plans with physician input; coordinates discharge planning.
