Job summary

Qualifications

• Holds a current Virginia Physical Therapy License.
• Graduated from an approved physical therapy program.
• One year of clinical experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Excellent communication, organizational and human relations skills.
• Ability to function with minimal supervision.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
• Ability to employ critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing PT assessments to determine client functional level.
• Provides direct therapeutic PT services as planned and approved by physician.
• Evaluates equipment needs to increase client function.
• Documents and communicates client status and progress to physician and staff.
• Teaches and supervises nurses, aides, caregivers, and clients for continuation of therapy.
• Collaborates with staff on goals and outcomes; participates in clinical conferences.
• Delivers services per established treatment standards; supports discharge planning.
• Develops and revises care plans with physician input.
• Maintains comprehensive clinical records in a timely manner.
• Develops maintenance therapy programs and supervises staff.
