Job summary

Kona Medical Consulting is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) with Home Health experience to join the Home Health team across locations in Texas. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to carry out treatment plans and support patient recovery.

The role emphasizes hands-on therapy, patient education for at-home exercises, and maintaining a safe, compliant clinical environment. Prior home health exposure and state licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in PTA program (accredited).
• Must have prior home health experience.
• Licensure or certification as required by the state of employment.
• Familiarity with therapy equipment and techniques.
• Strong communication, empathy, and patience in dealing with patients of various conditions and ages.
• Ability to lift and support patients and remain active throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and mobility techniques.
• Use specialized equipment to aid in patient recovery and rehabilitation.
• Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions.
• Communicate with patients to ensure their comfort and understanding of therapy goals.
• Educate patients and their families about at-home exercises and techniques for continued recovery.
• Prepare therapy rooms and equipment for patient use.
• Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment.
• Report any significant changes in a patient's condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Record accurate notes on treatment provided and patient progress.
• Adhere to healthcare regulations, privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA), and safety protocols.
