Job summary

The Pennant Group, Inc. is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to provide direct physical therapy services under the direction of a physical therapist and according to the physician's plan of care.

Qualifications

• PTA must be licensed where the HHA is located if licensure is required.
• Graduate from a CAPTE-approved PTA program and have passed a national examination for PTA assistants.
• Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and access to transportation for agency travel.
• Employer is The Pennant Group, Inc., a holding company of home health and hospice agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct physical therapy according to directions of the physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care.
• Treats patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Directs and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training.
• Utilizes physical agents including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage.
• Observes and reports patient reactions and changes in condition to the PT and organization staff.
• Instructs patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes and prosthetic/orthotic devices.
• Maintains records and notes for the patient’s clinical record.
• Participates in Home Care Team Meetings and in-service Education Program.
• May be asked to perform other job-related tasks.
