Job summary

Peace and Harmony Homecare LLC is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant to support licensed Physical Therapists in delivering in-home care. Under supervision, you will implement treatment plans to help patients regain mobility, increase strength, and reduce pain.

Applicants must have CAATE-accredited PTA training, an active PTA license, CPR certification, and at least two years of PTA experience, preferably in home health.

Qualifications

• Graduated from PTA curriculum approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAATE).
• Current PTA license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of two years of PTA experience, preferably in home health care.
• Criminal background check and other state-required checks for compliance.
• Current CPR certification.
• Educated outside the United States or trained in US military: graduated from an education program equivalent to PTA entry level by a credentials evaluation org approved by APTA.
• Passed a national examination for PTA.

Responsibilities

• Assists PT in implementing patient care plans and daily therapy assignments.
• Guides patients through prescribed exercise programs including passive, assistive, and resistive exercises.
• Applies heat, light, water, and modalities to stimulate muscle/nerve function.
• Assists patients in gait training to improve ambulatory skills.
• Performs other therapeutic activities and observes patient condition during treatment.
• Seeks assistance from PT or medical personnel when appropriate.
• Records patient response and progress in charts.
• Prepares patient referrals as requested by PT.
• Educates patient and family about treatment and progress.
