Job description

Caretenders Home Health is hiring for a full-time PTA in the Worcester area!

The Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) performs treatment, provides exercise instruction, and patient education aimed at improving/enhancing the patient's well-being while following the established plan of care.

  • Coverage areas include Worcester, Holden, Sterling, Lancaster.
Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the PTA is responsible for:

  1. Following all state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care.
  2. Adhering to the treatment plan defined by the Physical Therapist.
  3. Performing only procedures qualified and trained for.
  4. Recommending changes in the plan of care to the supervising PT.
  5. Instructing and aiding patients within the scope of practice and legal regulations.
  6. Observing, recording, and reporting patient responses and condition changes to the supervising PT, nurse, and/or physician.
  7. Coordinating care with healthcare team members.
  8. Educating patients, families, caregivers, and team members about therapy.
  9. Visiting patients within the service area and nearby agencies as needed.
  10. Completing and submitting progress notes per policy after each visit.
  11. Participating in staff conferences and committees.
  12. Adhering to LHC Therapy Standards of Practice.
  13. Participating in weekend rotations as needed.
  14. Performing other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience

License Requirements

  • Current license, registration, or certification to practice physical therapy in MA.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle.
