Caretenders Home Health is hiring for a full-time PTA in the Worcester area!

The Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) performs treatment, provides exercise instruction, and patient education aimed at improving or enhancing the patient's well-being while following the established plan of care.

• Coverage areas include Worcester, Holden, Sterling, Lancaster.

Responsibilities

1. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, follow all state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care, adhere strictly to the treatment plan set by the Physical Therapist, perform only procedures qualified and trained for, and recommend changes to the plan of care as necessary.
2. Instruct and assist patients in evidence-based treatments within the scope of practice for a physical therapy assistant, according to state laws.
3. Observe, record, and report to the supervising PT, nurse supervisor, and/or physician regarding patient responses to treatment and changes in condition. Coordinate care with other healthcare team members as appropriate.
4. Educate patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare team members within the scope of practice.
5. Visit patients within the service area and nearby LHC agencies as needed.
6. Complete and submit progress notes for each visit in accordance with LHC policy.
7. Participate in staff conferences and committees as requested.
8. Adhere to LHC Therapy Standards of Practice.
9. Participate in weekend rotations to provide services as needed.
10. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

License Requirements

• Current license, registration, or certification to practice physical therapy in MA.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle.
