Caretenders Home Health is hiring for a full-time PTA in the Worcester area!

The Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) performs treatment, provides exercise instruction, and patient education aimed at improving/enhancing the patient's well-being while following the established plan of care.

Coverage Areas: Worcester, Holden, Sterling, Lancaster

Responsibilities

1. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, follow all state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care, adhere to the treatment plan set by the Physical Therapist, perform procedures qualified and trained for, and recommend changes to the plan of care.
2. Instruct and assist patients in evidence-based treatments within the scope of practice and in accordance with state laws.
3. Observe, record, and report patient responses and condition changes to the supervising PT, nurse, and/or physician. Coordinate care with healthcare team members as appropriate.
4. Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members in therapy areas within the PTA's scope.
5. Visit patients within the service area and nearby agencies as needed.
6. Complete and submit progress notes for each visit as per LHC policy.
7. Participate in staff conferences and committees as requested.
8. Adhere to LHC Therapy Standards of Practice.
9. Participate in weekend rotations as required.
10. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

License Requirements

• Current license, registration, or certification to assist in physical therapy practice in MA.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle.
