Job summary

HH-Hospice Central Intake - NC is seeking an experienced Full-Time Location Authorization Specialist for our Home Health team in West Jefferson, NC. The role focuses on payer verification and securing authorizations for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers.

The candidate will verify insurance, obtain authorizations, run daily expiration reports, and assist with researching denials to support accurate billing processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of customer service/medical billing/collections experience required. Home health experience preferred.
• Thorough and working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial billing regulations and requirements.
• Experience with the technical aspects of electronic medical billing.

Responsibilities

• Verifies insurance for all patient payers.
• Contacts insurance companies and obtains authorization for home health services in a timely and accurate manner for payers requiring authorization.
• Runs the authorization expiration report on a daily basis.
• Assist the billing department with researching denials.
