Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our home health team in Florence, SC. You will provide skilled interventions under the supervision of an OT, document visits per AOTA guidelines, and support patients to regain independence at home.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant.
• Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant program accredited by ACOTE.
• Eligible to take or has completed NBCOT entry-level certification.
• One year related occupational therapy assistant experience preferred; mentoring available for less-experienced candidates.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled interventions under the direction of an occupational therapist.
• Documents each visit following AOTA guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Observes and reports patient responses and changes in condition.
• Provides patient/caregiver resources for future ADL/IADL needs.
• Promotes wellness and engagement in meaningful activities.
• Identifies community resources/services for patient support.
• Makes follow-up care recommendations in coordination with the care center.
• Keeps up-to-date with OT trends and knowledge.
