Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our home health team in Union, SC. This full-time, days position provides skilled OT services under an OT supervisor, focusing on patient independence and safety in daily activities.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of assignment.
• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant program accredited by ACOTE or equivalent.
• Eligible to take or have completed the NBCOT entry-level certification.
• One year of related OTA experience; less than one year requires regional leadership approval and mentoring.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled interventions under the supervision of an occupational therapist.
• Documents each visit per AOTA guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Observes, records, and reports patient responses and condition changes to supervising staff.
• Provides patient/caregiver resources for future ADL/IADL needs.
• Promotes wellness and prevention by encouraging occupational engagement.
• Demonstrates knowledge of community resources/services.
• Makes follow-up care recommendations in coordination with the admitting care center.
• Keeps abreast of OT trends and knowledge for service provision and care coordination.
• Other duties as assigned.
