Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in Oklahoma to assist with initial patient assessments and to develop and implement individualized treatment programs under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. You will document patient progress, administer modalities and exercises, and maintain accurate records in accordance with department policies and charges.

The role requires knowledge of care for diverse age groups and active participation in departmental education.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Licensure: Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure.
• Experience: One year preferred but will consider new graduates.
• Certifications: BLS certified.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient under the direction of OT and according to departmental policies.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and continuing need for treatment per policy.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per policy.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records on each patient.
• Promote education within the department.
• Demonstrates knowledge of needs across age groups from neonatal to geriatric.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
