Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support assessments and create individualized treatment plans for patients of all ages. You will document progress, administer therapies, and maintain patient records per Mercy standards.

The role requires graduation from an accredited OT Assistant program and a current license or eligibility, plus BLS. Experience is preferred but new graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
• One year experience preferred but new graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial patient assessments under OT guidance and departmental policies.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and continuing need for treatment.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per departmental policies.
• Maintain progress notes and department records including charges.
• Promote education within the department and support staff.
• Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific needs across neonatal to geriatric patients.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
