Job summary

Mercy seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist with patient assessments and individualized treatment plans across age groups in our Inpatient Physical Medicine department. You will document patient progress and support education within the team.

The ideal candidate has OTA education, BLS certification, and licensure eligibility, with preference for 1 year of experience. Mercy offers comprehensive benefits and a stable, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
• One year experience preferred but will consider new graduates.
• BLS certification required and current.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient under supervision of OT/RT or supervisor per departmental policies.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and continuing need for treatment.
• Administer appropriate modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per departmental policies.
• Maintain progress notes and department records on each patient per policy.
• Participate in promoting education within the department.
• Demonstrates knowledge of special needs across age groups (neonatal to geriatric).
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
