Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Home Health Aide in Largo, FL. The role supports patient care under the supervision of a nurse, following care plans, and communicating with family and caregivers. Full-time hours include 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, with every 3rd weekend work and no on-call duties.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to patients under supervision of the staff nurse.
• Follow the patient’s plan of care and complete tasks assigned by the RN or other professionals.
• Maintain open communication with patient, family, and caregivers.
• Demonstrate task competency and comply with infection control policies.
• Report changes in the patient’s condition and support patient rights.

• Location: Pinellas County
• Status: Full Time, hourly
• Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Weekend Work: Every 3rd weekend
• On Call: No

Home Health Aide key responsibilities:

• As part of the patient care team, works under the guidance and supervision of the staff nurse in providing personal care to the patients
• Follows the patient's plan of care for completion of tasks assigned to a home health aide by the registered nurse or other appropriate skilled professional
• Maintains an open communication process with the patient, representative (if any), caregivers, and family
• Demonstrates competency with assigned tasks
• Complies with infection prevention and control policies and procedures
• Reports changes in the patient's condition
• Honors patient rights

Required Certifications and Licensures:

• CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or HHA certification from accredited 75-hour program
• Driver's License State of Florida (Florida driver's license is required within 30 days of hire)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Education:

• Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• Preferred 1 year Home Care
