Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care such as personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
• Assist with meal preparation and intake/output monitoring.
• Support patient ambulation and transfers from bed, chair, or toilet.
• Provide compassionate, safe care in the home setting.

Home Health Aide

Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Home Health Aide.

Home Health Aides will perform basic and routine patient care, such as personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, and feeding, intake/output, ambulation, and assisting patients with transfer from/to bed, toilet and other areas of the home.

Location & Shift

City/State: South Boston, VA

Work Shift: First (Days)

Anticipated Status/Shift: Part-Time (24 hours/week)

Day Shift: 8AM - 5PM

Position Location: Sentara Hospice Services - South Boston, VA (travel can include up to a 50-mile radius for position)

Education

• No specific education requirements

Certification/Licensure

• CNA (Required)
• First Aid Basics Certification (Required)
• BLS (Required within 90 days of hire)

Experience

• Previous Customer Service Experience (Required)
• Prior Hospice experience (Preferred)

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $20.10 - $29.63 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
