Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Home Health Aide to join our hospice team in South Boston, VA. You will provide hands-on patient care, support daily activities, and help maintain comfort and dignity in the home setting.

The role requires CNA certification, First Aid basics, and BLS within 90 days, with part-time hours and day shift. Travel up to 50 miles may be involved. Sentara offers competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and routine patient care, including personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, meals and feeding, intake/output.
• Assist with ambulation and transfers from bed, toilet and home environments.
• Support patient comfort and safety during home health visits and aid in care coordination.

Overview

Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Home Health Aide.

Home Health Aides will perform basic and routine patient care, such as personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, and feeding, intake/output, ambulation, and assisting patients with transfer from/to bed, toilet and other areas of the home.

Anticipated Status/Shift

Part-Time (24 hours/week)

Day Shift (8AM - 5PM)

Sentara Hospice Services - South Boston, VA (travel can include up to a 50-mile radius for position)

Education

• No specific education requirements

Certification/Licensure

• CNA (Required)
• First Aid Basics Certification (Required)
• BLS (Required within 90 days of hire)

Experience

• Previous Customer Service Experience (Required)
• Prior Hospice experience (Preferred)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $20.10 - $29.63 hourly.Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
