Job summary

Sentara Hospice Services in South Boston, VA is seeking a Home Health Aide to perform essential home-based patient care, including personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, meal preparation and feeding, intake/output, ambulation, and assisting transfers.

Part-time position (24 hours/week) with Day Shift (8AM–5PM). Travel up to 50 miles may be required. A CNA is required; First Aid basics and BLS within 90 days of hire. Hospice experience and customer service background are preferred.

Overview:

Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Home Health Aide.

Home Health Aides will perform basic and routine patient care, such as personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, and feeding, intake/output, ambulation, and assisting patients with transfer from/to bed, toilet and other areas of the home.

Anticipated Status/Shift:

Part-Time (24 hours/week)

Day Shift (8AM - 5PM)

Position Location:

Sentara Hospice Services - South Boston, VA (travel can include up to a 50-mile radius for position)

Education

No specific education requirements

Certification/Licensure

• CNA (Required)


• First Aid Basics Certification (Required)


• BLS (Required within 90 days of hire)

Experience

• Prior Hospice experience (Preferred)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $20.10 - $29.63 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
