Job Overview

The Home Health Aide (HHA) works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Therapist, providing personal care services tailored to patient needs. This role involves caring for a high-functioning autistic teenage boy who enjoys playing games. Hours are flexible, typically 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on some Saturdays and weekday evenings, up to 16 hours per month.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Observe and document patient condition, reporting changes to the nurse supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with the patient, family/caregiver, and office.
• Complete Maxim's Competency Program successfully.
• Practice within the scope of your license or certificate.
• Follow the patient's care plan and complete assigned tasks.
• Adhere to company policies, documentation standards, and professional boundaries.
• Participate in all required trainings timely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Meet all training requirements per state and federal laws.
• Ability to read, follow instructions, and document care.
• Current CPR certification.
• Complete necessary screenings (PPD or chest x-ray).
• Pass Maxim's screening examinations and competency program.
• Meet all legal requirements for federal, state, and local regulations.
• Proficiency in English and excellent communication skills.
• Technological proficiency with mobile devices for documentation.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay ranges from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. Benefits include health and wellness programs, retirement plans, lifestyle benefits, paid time off, and more.
