Job summary

CareRing Health in Virginia seeks a compassionate Home Health Aide to deliver in-home care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Therapist. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor conditions, document changes, and support clients to remain independent at home.

Requirements include current CNA license in good standing, Virginia Home Health Aide license, CPR certification, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior elderly care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring).
• Engage residents in conversation and activities while providing personal care.
• Respond promptly to needs and obtain assistance as necessary.
• Observe health changes and report to a licensed nurse.
• Complete incident/change of condition reports and behavior tracking timely.
• Prepare and serve meals and assist with eating.
• Make beds, tidies rooms, and waste disposal as needed.

Job description

Overview

The Home Health Aide delivers quality home health care services to the Agency's clients under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Therapist in accordance with physician orders, Agency and industry standards, and federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility
• Engages residents in meaningful conversation, socialization, and activity while providing personal care assistance
• Responds to all resident needs and/or requests for care promptly, and provides or obtains assistance with care as necessary
• Observes residents for changes in physical, emotional, mental, or behavioral condition, unusual symptoms, accidents, injuries, or unusual occurrences, and reports promptly to a licensed nurse
• Completes all forms and documentation such as incident reports, change of condition reports, and behavior tracking, as requested, and in a timely manner
• Prepares and serves meals, assists with eating, not including tube feeding
• Makes beds, empties garbage, and tidies rooms daily and as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with the elderly in a residential or long-term care setting also preferred
