Job summary

Interim HealthCare of Mercer County is seeking a Home Health Aide (HHA) to support seniors in their homes in Middlesex County. You will provide personal care, assist with activities of daily living, and help maintain a safe home environment.

Join a team guided by an experienced RN and enjoy flexible scheduling and opportunities for training. We offer base pay of $18 per hour with bonus opportunities on select cases, 1:1 client ratios, and tuition discounts through Rasmussen University.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and active NJ HHA registration.
• Six months healthcare experience preferred.
• CPR certification.
• TB, MMR and HepB vaccination information.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation.
• Compassionate and good communicator with ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support so seniors live safely at home.
• Assist with ADLs: bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal prep, shopping, transportation, companionship.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers and ROM exercises.
• Provide medication reminders and document conditions; notify supervisor of concerns.
• Maintain a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways.
• Participate in activities that bring clients joy (puzzles, games, reading, hobbies).

As a Home Health Aide, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

• Provide the personal care and support seniors need to live safely at home

• Help with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises
• Provide medication reminders, document their condition and notify a supervisor of any concerns
• Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways
• Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading and hobbies

A few must-haves for Home Health Aides:

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and active Home Health Aide (HHA) registration in New Jersey
• Six (6) months of experience in a healthcare role, preferred
• CPR certification
• TB, MMR and HepB Vaccination information
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation
• Compassionate and helping nature, good communicator and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
