What will you do?
  • Help with personal care or homemaking in a client’s home
  • Meal plan and preparation for those who need it
  • Companionship and maybe light housekeeping
  • Follow a care plan to provide the best possible care under the direction of an RN
  • Communicate with the local branch
What qualifications should you have?
  • Professionalism inside and out, great attendance, and the desire to help!
  • Experience in personal care/homemaking is preferred, but it’s not required! We’ll train you.
  • You must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
  • You need a state ID/valid license and reliable transportation, our clients depend on us!

Responsibilities

  • Personal Care as needed (Total care experience preferred)
  • A successful Home Health-care Aide provides personal care services under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse
  • Ability to follow a care plan
  • Meal preparation/feeding
  • Laundry
  • Light Housekeeping
  • Knows and follows infection control policies including proper hand washing techniques.
  • Reports any observed or reported changes in the client’s condition and/or needs to the Registered Nurse.
  • Documents care provided and completes the forms required for the client’s records. Completes the appropriate records to document cares given and pertinent observations.
  • Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients by observing infection control practices, following agency guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to the Supervisor/Case Manager.
  • Demonstrates safe practice in the use of equipment. Does not use equipment until orientation has been provided. Notifies supervisor of educational needs.
  • Communicates effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team through verbal reports, participation in staff meetings, and team conferences, as requested.
  • Treats patients and families with respect. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
  • Accepts and fulfills assignments with the agency. Exercise good judgment in accepting assignments.
  • Participates in required in-service programs to meet compliance requirements. Identifies learning needs to agency supervisor.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary
