Anticipated Hours Per Week: 9 to 12

Schedule:

I ask that you work a minimum of 2 shifts per week, in addition to approximately one weekend (Saturday and Sunday day shifts) per month; more shifts are available if desired.

Shifts available:

  • 5 morning shifts (Monday-Friday). Mornings start at 7 am and end between 11 and 11:30 am.
  • 6 evening shifts (Monday-Saturday). Evening shifts begin around 6 pm and last approximately 4 hours on average (time on Saturday is flexible); exact shift length varies based on needs.
  • An additional flexible 3-hour split shift per week for organizing, mail, paperwork, medical scheduling, and communication, which can be added to a weekday shift if desired.
  • One weekend shift per month (Saturday and Sunday day shifts). These usually start at 8 am and last about 6-6.5 hours; exact length varies.
  • Occasional shorter Sunday evening shifts, starting and ending earlier, with flexibility depending on needs.

I'm happy to accommodate students' schedules and have been doing so for many years.

Salary/Wage Range: $16.32 per hour

Position Summary / Job Duties

This is a great opportunity for pre-health students (pre-med, PT, OT, PA, rehab psych, etc.) or anyone looking to supplement income and assist with daily living activities. I am a woman in my thirties with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), seeking women to join my team of aides. Responsibilities include:

  • Stretching, physical and occupational therapy exercises
  • Bandage changing
  • Wheelchair transfers
  • Activities of daily living
  • Household chores

I am independent in most activities, including bathroom use (except transfers). Located 15 minutes off campus on Madison's north side near the airport.

This role provides valuable patient care experience and hours for those interested in healthcare careers. I am happy to write graduate program recommendation letters for deserving team members.
