Job summary

First Day Homecare® seeks a part-time Personal Care Aide to deliver in-home care under supervision in Texas. You will be assigned to clients based on care plans to support personal comfort and well-being.

The role emphasizes companionship, ADLs, and safe transfers, with strong care-team communication and adherence to infection control practices. CPR certification and TB testing are required.

Qualifications

• Meets one of the following: at least 1 year in direct client care in an institutional or agency setting, or completion of a Texas-regulation training/competency program with home health experience.
• Must be 18+ years old and capable of following a care plan.
• Licensed driver with valid insurance and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and, if authorized, transportation to clients per care plan.
• Assist with ADLs such as bathing, meals, and safe ambulation/transfers.
• Report changes in client condition to supervisor per care plan.
• Document care and maintain accurate records for the Agency.
• Collaborate with client’s care team and ensure clear communication.
• Promote client safety by following infection control practices.

Job Summary

Provides personal care services under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Therapist. The Aide is assigned to specific clients by the Registered Nurse or other appropriate professional who performs services for clients as necessary to maintain their personal comfort and well-being.

Reports To: Clinical Supervisor

Provides Supervision To: NA – No supervision responsibilities

Requirements

• (+1 year of Caregiving Experience)
• Active CPR Certification
• Recent TB Test (12 month two-step, or 2 year blood test)

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and, if authorized, transportation to clients according to the care plan.
• Assist client with general Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, meals, and safe ambulation/transfers.
• Report any changes in the client’s condition to the supervisor as outlined in the care plan.
• Document care provided and maintain accurate records for the Agency.
• Work collaboratively with the client’s care team and ensure effective communication.
• Promote client safety by following infection control practices and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Attend in-service programs to meet compliance and notify supervisors of any educational needs.

Qualifications

• Meets one (1) of the following:
  • A minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience in direct client care in an institutional setting.
  • One (1) year of full-time experience within the last five )5 years in direct client care in an agency setting.
  • Satisfactory completion of a training and competency evaluation program that complies with Texas regulation 558.701 plus experience providing home health services in the past 24 months.
  • Submission of documentation to the Agency from the director of programs or the dean of a school of nursing verifying that the individual is a nursing student who has demonstrated competency in providing basic nursing skills in accordance with the school's curriculum.
  • Is listed on the Texas Health and Human Services Commission Nurse Aide Registry and in good standing.
• Be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Demonstrated ability to read, write, and follow a written care plan.
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements and in good repair.
• Current CPR certification.
• Recent TB test (12 months)
• (1+ year of caregiving experience)

We are a new HH company to San Antonio and surrounding zip codes. We are looking for PRN/Part-Time staff as our patient census is low and we currently are working on obtaining new referrals and initiating care to more patients!
