Job summary

PurposeCare, a growing home health and home care provider in the Midwest, seeks compassionate caregivers to join our team. You will provide personal care, assist with daily living, and help clients stay safe and independent in their homes.

Qualified candidates include licensed HHAs/CNAs; we welcome those willing to become certified. We offer weekly pay, flexible scheduling, and growth opportunities within PurposeCare to support patients and families.

Qualifications

• Must have completed state-approved Home Health Aide training or equivalent.
• CNA or STNA license or comparable credential per Ohio regulations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and patient safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care: bathing, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, toileting.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, ambulation, ROM as per care plan.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed.
• Support medication reminders and non-prescription self-administration.
• Report changes to supervising nurse and document care provided.
• Travel to patient homes for assigned visits across the service area.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care support including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, and toileting
• Assist with mobility, transfers, ambulation, and range-of-motion exercises per care plan
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed
• Support medication self-administration through reminders (no independent med administration)
• Monitor and report patient condition and changes to the supervising nurse
• Take and record basic vital signs when trained and assigned
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly client environment
• Assist with linens and light client laundry as appropriate
• Use safety equipment properly (rails, supports, stools, etc.)
• Document care provided according to company and regulatory standards
• Travel reliably to patient homes and assigned visits across your service area
• Complete required in-service training, including annual dementia education

• On-time arrival and dependable attendance for assigned visits
• Positive feedback from patients and families
• Completion of required certifications and training on schedule
• Strong communication with supervising nurse and care team

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide (HHA) training program, CNA certificate, STNA license or at least 1.5 years of recent caregiving experience in home care, assisted living, long-term care, nursing home, or hospital settings.
• HHA certification or equivalent credential as required by Ohio state regulations.
• Basic knowledge of patient care and safety protocols.
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience caring for seniors or individuals with chronic conditions, disabilities, or dementia.
