Job summary

Croell, Inc. is hiring a ready mix driver to join our team in a role that combines vanishingly routine driving with projects across roads, bridges, and buildings.

You will handle short-haul deliveries, stay home nightly, and act as a reliable link between contractors and our fleet. Applicants should have at least 1 year of experience or be willing to train, hold a Class A or B CDL with a valid DOT medical card, and maintain DOT-compliant vehicle inspections.

Qualifications

• Consent to pre-employment work screen and drug test.
• CDL Class A or B and current Medical DOT card required.
• Personal protective equipment required.
• Understand instructions from supervisors in written and verbal form.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Dependability and reliability; punctuality for shifts.
• Positive attitude to maintain productive working relationships.
• Exposure to varying weather and outdoor conditions.
• Overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate ready mix truck and deliver concrete following DOT rules and routes.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections per DOT standards and report issues.
• Verify mix designs, load size, slump, and adjust as needed.
• Wash down at job site and rinse drum on return to plant; perform drum maintenance.
• Provide courteous customer service and collect payment.
• Maintain vehicle, plant, and shop cleanliness and safety; perform routine maintenance.
• Complete paperwork using tablets or phones (timekeeping, tickets, reports).
• Be a team player, cross-train in dispatching and batching, and adapt to non-exhaustive duties.
