Job summary

160 Driving Academy is seeking a CDL Class A Instructor Trainer to educate students from pre‑trip inspections through to CDL completion. You’ll work at a designated yard, collaborating with a team of instructors and a Lead Instructor. Occasional assignments at other yards ensure coverage and continuity of training.

This hands‑on role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and student success, with a focus on maintaining a high first‑attempt pass rate and excellent student ratings.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license and clean driving record.
• Experience teaching CDL basics and behind‑the‑wheel instruction.
• Ability to mentor students through pre‑trip inspections and yard maneuvers.

Responsibilities

• Teach Class A driving in outdoor yards with automatics and manuals.
• Lead students through pre‑trip checks, yard moves, and on‑road driving.
• Prepare students to meet CDL testing standards on the first attempt.
• Track attendance and progress; provide extra guidance as needed.
• Maintain training records and document incidents promptly.
• Collaborate with Lead Instructor to ensure a consistent student experience.
• Help keep the yard clean and equipment maintained.
• Occasionally fill in at other regional yards for coverage.
