Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking a Shop Manager / Diesel Mechanic to lead a diesel fleet maintenance team. You’ll oversee shop operations, mentor staff, and hands-on repair diesel trucks, mixers, and heavy equipment.

In this working manager role, you’ll schedule maintenance, ensure safety compliance, and maintain records while staying current with diesel tech. Strong leadership and diagnostic skills are essential. Home daily hours and competitive pay accompany a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational certification in diesel repair is a plus.
Experience as Diesel Mechanic, Shop Manager, or Lead Technician in concrete/heavy equipment is preferred.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems; ability to troubleshoot with diagnostics.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor mechanics and shop staff with focus on safety, efficiency, and quality.
Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, trucks, mixers, and heavy equipment; include oil changes and filters.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools.
Rebuild or repair major diesel engine components such as heads, blocks, starters, and transmissions.
Schedule maintenance with operations to minimize downtime and keep fleet delivery-ready.
Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records and stay current with diesel tech.
