Ben E. Keith is hiring a Local Class A Driver Trainee for home daily routes in Abilene, TX. The role progresses to a Driver DOT position upon successful completion of the training program.

The position requires a valid Class A CDL and the ability to read and interpret safety and operating manuals. Responsibilities include delivering to multiple stops, assembling orders, maintaining delivery windows, and ensuring accurate, damage-free deliveries while following traffic regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL driver's license required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to prioritise multiple projects, assignments and tasks, and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
• High School diploma or GED: one year or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Deliver product along assigned routes with multiple stops.
• Read customer invoices to determine items to be moved and delivered.
• Assemble customer orders for delivery to businesses.
• Maintain delivery time windows for each stop on the route.
• Maintain accuracy of delivered product with no damage due to mishandling.
• Obey traffic laws and transportation procedures.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and report mechanical problems.
