Job summary

Alta Equipment Group in Oakwood Village, OH is seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment Field Technician to service diesel, agricultural, and heavy equipment. You will inspect, repair, and maintain equipment, and report to the Oakwood Village branch in a union role under Operating Engineers Local 18.

The position requires four years of prior heavy equipment or OTR repair experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work after hours.

Qualifications

• Four years of heavy equipment or OTR repair experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of power systems repair experience.
• Volvo Penta engine experience preferred.
• Military MOS codes 63B/63H/63S/63W/63Y/91B/91H/91L/91M/CM are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of powertrain and generation systems.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting.
• Good written and verbal communication; strong time management.
• Must have own tools and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Complete inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Implement optional accessories and upgrades.
• General repairs of diesel and heavy equipment.
• Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles daily.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintain consistent, reliable attendance and be ready for start times.
