Job summary

CarMax in Escondido, CA is seeking a Fleet Driver I to transport vehicles safely and on time, supporting inventory flow and customer service. You will perform pre-trip inspections, secure loads, and drive a company-provided truck between CarMax locations and approved vendors.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years.
• Must have a valid Class A CDL with at least 2 years of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Safety first — conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and CarMax standards using company hauler.
• Stay compliant — maintain accurate and compliant DOT logs and documentation.
• Transport with care — load, secure, transport, and unload CarMax vehicles safely and efficiently, including hands‑on freight handling, ladder climbing, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Be accountable — move vehicles between CarMax locations and approved vendors using a company‑provided truck, keeping equipment clean and well‑maintained.
• Deliver with purpose — deliver vehicles accurately and on time to support inventory flow and keep customers and stores on schedule.
• Represent CarMax professionally – interact with vendors, store associates, and the public in a way that reflects our values every time.
