Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Fleet Driver to transport vehicles between CarMax locations and approved vendors. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain DOT logs, and handle loading, securing, and unloading of vehicles in all weather conditions. A valid Class A CDL and 2+ years of CDL driving are required.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older with a valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years; meet CarMax’s Driver Safety Evaluation criteria.
• Physical ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds; secure, block, and restrain vehicles; perform repetitive physical tasks with chains, binders and straps.

Responsibilities

• Safety first — conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and CarMax standards using company hauler.
• Stay compliant — maintain accurate and compliant DOT logs and documentation.
• Transport with Care — load, secure, transport, and unload CarMax vehicles safely and efficiently; include hands-on freight handling and elevator/ground access outdoors in all weather.
• Be accountable — move vehicles between CarMax locations and approved vendors using a company-provided truck; keep equipment clean and operationally ready.
• Deliver with purpose — ensure timely delivery to support inventory flow and keep customers and stores on schedule.
• Represent CarMax professionally — interact with vendors, store associates, and the public reflecting company values.
