CarMax in Oceanside, CA is hiring a Fleet Driver I to transport vehicles between CarMax locations and vendors. The role emphasizes safety, reliable schedules, and hands-on vehicle handling outdoors in all weather.

You’ll operate a company truck, maintain logs, and deliver vehicles on time to support inventory flow. A valid Class A CDL and 2+ years of CDL driving are required; the position offers competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• All drivers 21+ with a valid state license.
• Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past 3 years.
• Must hold a valid Class A CDL and have 2+ years of CDL driving experience.
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and secure vehicles during transport.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and environments.
• Must meet DOT & FMCSA qualification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safety first — conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and CarMax standards using company hauler.
• Stay compliant — maintain accurate and compliant DOT logs and documentation.
• Transport with Care — load, secure, transport, and unload CarMax vehicles safely and efficiently, including hands-on freight handling, ladder climbing, and outdoor work.
• Be accountable — move vehicles between CarMax locations and approved vendors using a company-provided truck, keeping equipment clean and ready.
• Deliver with purpose — deliver vehicles accurately and on time to support inventory flow and keep customers and stores on schedule.
• Represent CarMax professionally – interact with vendors, store associates, and the public in a way that reflects our values every time.
