Job summary

Airgas is seeking a Warehouse/CDL Route Backup Driver in Peoria, IL. The role entails safe loading, delivery, and handling of high-pressure gas cylinders, while complying with DOT and safety standards.

You will stock and move materials, operate warehouse equipment, and perform scheduled deliveries to customers. Qualified candidates hold a Class A CDL with Hazmat or must obtain endorsement within 60 days, and can meet lifting and outdoor work requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Class A CDL.
• Hazmat endorsement or able to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required.
• Ability to routinely lift 25–75 lbs, and occasionally 76+ lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
• Maintain a drug-free workplace.
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Stock, label, pick, pack, and distribute materials and supplies.
• Receive, check, and store delivered materials; conduct regular inventory checks.
• Enforce policies for proper receipt, storage and distribution of materials, review invoices.
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
• Observe safety rules and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Deliver compressed gas cylinders and liquid cylinders on a scheduled route to customers.
• Load and unload trucks, retrieve empty cylinders, and return them for refilling.
• Maintain accurate vehicle documentation and a professional appearance.
