Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc. is hiring a driver to safely transport explosives supplies to company job sites on a schedule that may require flexibility. Duties include loading/unloading, maintaining load manifests, and strict adherence to DOT safety rules.

Role involves operating Class B vehicles (and sometimes Class C), keeping documents in order, and reporting status to dispatch. Strong driving record and ATF background readiness are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Class B CDL license with Haz-mat Endorsement, Tanker Endorsement, DOT medical fitness card, and acceptable driving record.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Successful class B commercial driving experience (trainee considered with license and acceptable MVR).
• Ability to pass a background investigation including ATF.
• Solid understanding of Federal DOT/State regulations relating to hazardous material transportation, trucking and interstate commerce.

Responsibilities

• Safe and timely transport of explosives supply using Class B vehicles. May use Class C vehicles as needed.
• Maintain load manifests and other vehicle documents with proper completion and balance.
• Receive product at magazine sites and store in inventory.
• Load product from magazine to distribution vehicle.
• Unload product to ground crew at job site.
• Ensure loads and materials are properly secured and compliant with DOT safety rules.
• Follow state and local traffic laws and regulations.
• Keep vehicle clean and follow maintenance schedules.
