Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc. seeks an experienced Licensed Blaster to perform blasting activities on job sites. You will operate under the supervision of the Blasting Supervisor and Project Superintendent, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

CDL with hazmat is required, and you may travel to different sites as needed. The role demands at least two years of blasting/explosives experience, Blaster I and II training, and a valid blasting certificate where required.

Qualifications

• High School Degree required.
• Two years of blasting/drilling experience preferred.
• Blaster I training completed; Blaster II training required.
• Valid Blasting Certificate where required by law.
• CDL with hazmat endorsement and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned blasting activities as directed by supervision.
• Operates as job site blaster following safety policies.
• Provides input on blast-related plans to supervisor.
• Identify blast site problems and resolve with supervisor.
• Verify pre-blast inspections and conduct pre-blast tests.
• Set up seismographs and monitor blasting operations.
• Maintain safety and report trip manifests and inventory.
• Transport explosives across state lines as needed.
• Attend safety meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
