Job summary

Interstate Waste Services, Inc. is hiring Class A CDL drivers in Closter, NJ. Monday-Friday, 4am-3:30pm, hourly pay of $31.44 with overtime after 40 hours per week. The role involves operating tractor trailers between transfer stations and rail yards, with local routes and home daily.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A CDL with air brake endorsement and a clean driving record.
• At least 1 year of CDL-A vehicle operation in the last 7 years; refuge company experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA and applicable traffic regulations.
• Must read and understand a map and communicate effectively with dispatch and customers.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks in compliance with safety standards, OSHA and DOT regulations.
• Home daily; all routes are local with daily return.
• Ensure intermodal container and contents are secure on Tractor & Chassis; check tarps and ties.
• Perform pre- and post-route inspections and report safety issues.
• Communicate professionally with customers and Dispatchers; document concerns and complaints.
