Job summary

Assisting Hands Home Care in Roxbury Township, NJ is seeking compassionate caregivers to join our award-winning team. You will provide in-home care to clients, assist with daily activities, meals, light exercise, and companionship, while following care plans under the supervision of an RN.

We value reliability, empathy, and a warm, patient-centered approach. Current CNA/HHA certification or caregiving experience is preferred; English proficiency and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English required.
• Strong communication skills and a caring nature.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are preferred.
• Experience in home care or caregiving is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, light exercise or walking.
• Prepare and serve meals.
• Provide medication reminders; training provided.
• Provide companionship and engage clients in activities.
• Ensure a clean, safe home environment; respect client care plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming; your support helps our clients maintain dignity and comfort
• Assist with Mobility, Transfers, Light Exercise or Walking
• Prepare and serve meals so clients have tasty and healthy food
• Medication reminders are crucial to our client’s health, we will train you
• Provide companionship, engage in fun activities and be the friendly face and joyful presence that makes every day a little brighter
• Show enthusiasm for helping others, eagerness to learn, and motivation to provide excellent care
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in clients' homes
• Occasional Transportation of your client to appointments or errands, we reimburse your miles
• Demonstrate dedication to our clients and respect for our agency’s close knit team

Requirements

• Proficiency in English
• Current CNA or HHA certification or caregiving experience
• Nursing students seeking patient care experience
• Previous experience in home care or a similar setting is a plus but not necessary; what matters most is your kindness and eagerness to make a difference
• Strong communication skills and a caring nature because a warm, empathetic approach is at the heart of what we do
• Ability to follow a care plan and provide compassionate, patient-centered care
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
