Job summary

BrightStar Care is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for in-home care in Chicago. You will work under a registered nurse, providing personal care and supporting clients during evenings and overnights.

This role offers flexible hours, with overnight shifts from 7pm to 7am and pay of $19–$21 per hour. Benefits include weekly pay, daily pay option, GPS scheduling, and free continuing education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of a nursing assistant program.
• Certification as a CNA required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Alzheimer's/dementia.
• CPR certification current.
• TB test or chest x-ray as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide hygiene care (bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, toileting, feeding, meal prep, linen changes, light housekeeping).
• Take and record vital signs as needed; monitor weight/height.
• Assist with ROM as per plan of care and report changes to Nursing Director.
• Assist with walking and transportation to appointments and activities.
• Maintain a safe care environment by following policies and standards.
• Respect and uphold client rights and confidentiality (HIPAA).

Responsibilities

• Provide client with hygiene care as directed including, but not limited to: bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, undressing, toileting activities, feeding, meal preparation, linen changes, light housekeeping
• Take and record vital signs as well as height and weight, if necessary
• Assist client in active and passive range of motion defined by the plan of care, document observed changes, report any changes to the Director of Nursing
• Assist client in walking and transportation to doctor appointments, outdoor activities, shopping
• Develop and promote a safe environment for quality client care through adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards
• Ensure client’s rights are adhered to

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Successful completion of a nursing assistant program
• Certification as a CNA
• Minimum 1 Year of experience working with patients with Alzheimer's/Dementia
• Certified CPR current and negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
• Physical provided clearing you to do CNA type work
• Minimum one (1) year of documented caregiving experience is required
• Reliable Transportation to Downtown Chicago
• Adhere to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality
