Job summary

Nurse Next Door San Mateo is seeking a Home Care Aide to provide one-on-one in-home support in South San Francisco. The role offers full-time and part-time hours with reliable scheduling, competitive pay, and ongoing training.

You will assist with daily living activities, mobility, and wellness checks while maintaining a safe, clean home environment. Strong communication and CPR certification are valued, with growth through a career ladder in home health care.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Home Health Aide (HHA) program.
• At least 1 year of paid home-health, hospice, or facility experience.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Strong written and verbal communication—you’re comfortable updating digital care logs.
• CPR certification (or willingness to earn within 30 days).

Responsibilities

• Provide daily living assistance and safe client transfers.
• Maintain a healthy home environment with linens, light housekeeping.
• Provide medication reminders and document vitals.
• Engage clients with mind-body activities and reminiscence.
• Document care notes and report changes to RN or Care Supervisor.

How You'll Make a Difference

• Personalized Daily Living Assistance – Safely transfer clients, support bathing/grooming, and help with mobility devices.
• Healthy Home Environment – Change linens, do light laundry, and keep living areas clean and hazard-free.
• Medication & Wellness Checks – Provide timely reminders and record basic vitals or observations.
• Mind-Body Engagement – Read aloud, reminisce, or guide simple chair-exercises to keep clients alert and active.
