Job summary

Waterfront Rescue Mission in Pensacola seeks a part-time Counselor for its Recovery Program. The role delivers holistic, biblically centered counseling to address root causes of clients' life-dominating issues.

Under the Director of Recovery Programs, you will evaluate with clients, monitor progress, document case notes, and help coordinate resources. You will also encourage church involvement and support clients toward independent living.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in related field or five to 10 years related experience with a bachelor's degree in related field.
• Must be able to research and present Christian material non-denominationally.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by WRM's insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, assesses, and develops a holistic growth plan with the client.
• Monitors progress and maintains contact with the client.
• Documents progress in case notes weekly or at each meeting.
• Counsels with a Christian, holistic approach aligned with Waterfront's best practices.
• Provides Biblical counsel to strengthen independence from external support.
• Addresses labor market barriers and helps plan vocational or educational transitions.
• Facilitates access to outside services as needed.
• Collaborates with community resources and professionals to support clients.
