Job summary

The Salvation Army Crystal Lake Corps in Crystal Lake, IL is seeking a Christmas Driver to support kettle season by transporting kettles and coordinating vehicle use.

The role involves driving Salvation Army-owned vehicles, keeping funds secure, and collaborating with the Volunteer & Community Relations Manager/ Corps Officers to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations during peak fundraising periods.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Good driving record with one-year experience and good knowledge of roads in the bell ringing area.
• Pass TSA MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Transport kettles, lock them on the kettle stands at the beginning of the kettle day.
• Pick up kettles at the end of the kettle day.
• Safely return kettles within route time allowed to the Salvation Army in Crystal Lake.
• Drive Salvation Army owned vehicles only.
• Allow bell ringers to finish ringing before removing the kettles.
• Coordinate with Volunteer & Community Relations Manager/Corps Officers on all kettle and equipment problems that need to be addressed.
• Keep monies secure at all times.
• Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with bell ringers and store employees.
• Follow assigned weekly driving schedules. Flexibility in shift hours is required, as schedules may change weekly
• Other duties as assigned.
