Job summary

British American Household Staffing seeks two ROTA nannies/governesses/educators in San Francisco (Pacific Heights) for a 2-year-old daughter. The role operates on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off cadence with a chef and housekeepers in the home.

Overview

A family in Pacific Heights, San Francisco is seeking 2 ROTA nannies/governesses/educators for their daughter who is 2 years old. The ROTA schedule is 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off. It is important that there is cohesive and thoroughly communicated care between the two nannies, with strong and impeccable handover. The role is fully staffed with a chef and housekeepers. The role is hybrid: lead the child’s early education and development, cultivate language, manners, and etiquette by example, and model the standards of communication and conduct the parents desire. The family values rigorous education, fine manners, and the quiet virtues of character. The role begins as soon as a great fit is found. Preference is for candidates within California, but candidates from other locations may be considered.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• US/EU citizenship is a bonus
• A skier is a bonus
• Homeschooling experience is a plus
• French-speaking is a plus; if not, Italian or Spanish

Requirements

• Preferred candidates are British or other international; must have US/EU citizenship and be authorized to work in the US.
• Must have a college/university degree in Early Childhood Education or a related childcare field (not a certificate or just coursework).
• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in a Preschool, Kindergarten, or Primary School; homeschooling experience is a plus.
• Must be comfortable around cats (they have 3) and not allergic.
• Must be a native English speaker and bilingual; French, Italian, or Spanish is a plus.
• Minimum 15 years of combined experience as a nanny/governess/educator.
• Evidence of respectful language usage with children (no baby-talk; model proper conversational phrases).
• Active swimmer
• Desire for longevity in the role and to grow with the child’s ages.
• Energetic and experienced as a professional childcare expert.
• Strong communication skills; meticulous in cleanliness, organization, and hygiene.
• CPR/First Aid certified
• Licensed driver with a clean driving record
• Nurture the child’s mind with thoughtful learning, balancing structure and warmth, reflecting an understanding of both the science of early childhood development and the art of gracious living.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary starting at $150k-$180k+ depending on qualifications, experience, and meeting the stated requirements (5 years teaching, degree in childcare field, 15 years combined experience, and multilingual ability).
• Benefits are determined and agreed upon based on background and experience.
