Job summary

The Sterling Choice is seeking an experienced HMI/SCADA engineer to join an automation and infrastructure outfit in Georgia. The role focuses on turning control narratives into user-friendly SCADA applications, with ownership across the lifecycle.

Travel up to 35% and a base salary of 90–130k is offered. You'll configure servers and networks, build graphics, alarms, trends, reports, integrate equipment, support FAT/SAT, and train operators.

Qualifications

• The candidate owns HMI/SCADA development across the project lifecycle.
• Experience turning control narratives into operator-friendly SCADA apps.
• Familiarity with Wonderware System Platform or similar platforms is a plus.

If you’re an HMI engineer, you’ve probably seen plenty of roles that are really PLC jobs with “SCADA” added to the title.

This one isn’t.

We’re supporting an established automation and infrastructure business looking for someone who genuinely enjoys building the application layer—turning control narratives into SCADA systems that operators can understand, trust and use.

You’ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle:

• Configuring servers, workstations, networks and communications
• Building graphics, alarms, trends, reports and control functionality
• Integrating third-party equipment and industrial protocols
• Supporting FAT, SAT, commissioning and customer‑site startup
• Demonstrating completed systems and training operators
• Providing technical support once systems are operational

The team works with platforms including:

• Wonderware System Platform / OMI

Water or wastewater experience would be particularly valuable, although we’re equally interested in strong SCADA engineers from other process-driven environments.

You don’t need experience with every platform listed. What matters is that you’ve taken genuine ownership of HMI/SCADA development—not simply made occasional screen changes while somebody else handled the application.
