Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Washes, dries and folds resident laundry and related items.
  • Sorts garments and linens, pre-rinses, treats and bleaches as needed.
  • Operates and maintains laundry equipment and keeps area clean.
  • Maintains inventory of linens and supplies; marks items as needed.
  • Notifies supervisor of supply shortages and equipment issues.
  • Supports cleanup of leaks, spills, or other incidents.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA safety standards in the work area.
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates hospitality in interactions with residents, families, and vendors.

Who You Are

We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Laundry Specialist in our Housekeeping Department. This person will have a genuine interest in working with older adults and be able to engage, motivate, and support both residents and fellow team members. Essential Functions
  • 1. Washes, dries and folds resident laundry, as required, housekeeping mops and rags, etc. in a manner that will not damage equipment or items being processed.
  • 2. Sorts garments and contaminated linens, pre-rinses, treats and bleaches as necessary.
  • 3. Responsible for the proper operation and care of laundry equipment. Maintains a clean laundry work area and equipment. Reports equipment malfunctions and/or damaged linens to the Housekeeping Director.
  • 4. Maintains inventory of facility linens and related laundry supplies. Marks items, as necessary.
  • 5. Informs Housekeeping Director of any supply shortages. Reports all infractions of state and federal regulations by company to the Housekeeping Director or other appropriate personnel. Attends all in-services and meetings.
  • 6. Provides support for cleanup of leaks, spills, floods, fire, etc.
  • 7. Maintain work area and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
  • 8. Effectively communicates both verbally and in writing.
  • 9. Demonstrates the community hospitality promises towards residents, families, associates and vendors.
