Job summary

Driftwood Hospitality Management is seeking a Laundry Attendant at the 562 - Houston North Marriott in Houston, TX. This full-time position supports efficient retrieval, processing, and distribution of laundry to guests, with varying shifts due to 24/7 hotel operations.

Responsibilities include operating ironing/folding machines, sorting items, and maintaining clean, organized work areas. Training on safety procedures and proper chemical use is provided. Prior experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Sort stained/damaged items and determine status for rewash or discard.
• Maintain continuous inventory of discarded items.
• Operate ironing and folder machines according to specifications.
• Process cleaned articles through machines.
• Fold cleaned articles and stack by type and size.
• Remove lint and debris from dryer filters as specified.
• Use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
• Check working condition and cleanliness of laundry machinery.
• Monitor usage of chemicals and water to maximize consumption.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout shift.
• Restock work areas for next shift as assigned.
• Turns in all lost and found items and all guest room keys.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Follow safety and security procedures and rules.
• Know department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
• Utilize protective equipment.
• Report unsafe conditions to management.
• Report accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to management.
• Provide a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
• All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
• Perform any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.
• Assist other Housekeeping Personnel when needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Frequent bending while loading/unloading washers/dryers, sorting linen and folding.

• Standing is required during the entire shift.
• Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.
